The Architecture and Interior Design Awards are awards given by the Fostering of Decorative Arts. They are one of the oldest and most prestigious in all of Europe, and reward the best works of Barcelona, Catalan, and Iberian architecture in different fields such as architecture, interior design, or works of city and landscape.

The Barcelona City Council wants to revitalize unused industrial warehouses in Besòs and 22@ areas where new innovation hubs will be created, attracting talent and investments through public-private partnerships. The goal is to diversify Barcelona’s economy by focusing on industry 4.0 and circular economy, creative industries, and urban innovation.

Tactical urbanism is an urban planning model that seeks to improve the quality of life of residents through quick, temporary, and low-cost interventions in public spaces. One of the clearest examples is the concept of “Superblocks”, which aim to transform areas of the city to prioritize pedestrians, cyclists, and public transportation, and reduce the presence and use of private vehicles.

Call for projects that propose diverse, differential, and innovative solutions to urban challenges. Designed by the BIT Habitat Municipal Foundation, and with the support of the Barcelona City Council, projects are awarded in areas such as urban transformation, housing, energy transition, and the climate emergency.
