Mechanical fitter/assembler

Description

This professional is in charge of adjusting precision parts with small and simple assemblies and deburring, or grinding supression by electromechanical methods, a function that depends on the kind of piece type and on materials and tools availability, and must be carried out under strict safety conditions.

The technician is mainly engaged in the detection and removal of small irregularities that are inevitably generated during the manufacture and piece reproduction, and in machines repairing to rectify the detected deficiencies. He also deals with assembly process and with the assembly of small system parts. Pieces must be subsequently verified and rejected if the slightest error is found, following quality procedures and accordingly to production deadlines. The wide range of assembled parts requires a great variety of components for each particular case.

Tasks

  • It deals with piece general deburring
  • Eliminates burrs and hard edges, using electromechanical tools or methods. Handled pieces must be verified later and rejected when it is found the slightest error.
  • Check the characteristics of the piece (sizes ...) using available tools.
  • Repair items that do not fit the expected parameters.
  • Assemble mechanical subsets.
  • Assemble the elements in accordance with the setting up plan specifications.
