Description

Multimedia analysts are the highest technical experts on products so common in today's world, such as online encyclopedias, interactive courses or any other type of web applications (online ATMs, job search portals, online trip portals). They usually work in the production sector and in publishing services and are skilled at coming up with and structuring multimedia applications that respond to the needs outlined by the publishing director or coordinator and are in line with the company's line of work. Must have knowledge of programming and the hardware on which the application will run. However, even more important is in-depth knowledge of the content of the application and needs and usage possibilities of this application on CD-ROM, the website and the multimedia support it contains.

Tasks

  • Analyse the work on multimedia supports.
    Analyze the requirements of the work commissioned by the publishing company, multimedia producer... sometimes using the information or contents contributed by the e-editor or information architect, website marketing manager or designer. Analyze user needs when using the application to create one that better adapts to these needs.
    Study the need of including audio and video, as well as the formal characteristics of the work and its adjustment to contents.
  • Develop and design the necessary software.
    Define the overall structure of the application.
    Define the user-friendliness criteria of the product.
    Decide the characteristics of the multimedia program: component elements, wher the audio and videoe will appear, etc.
    Define the development phases of the application.
    Define the functions the program will perform: interactivity, navigability, accessibility, etc.
  • Coordinate the production process for the application.
    Be the technical leader of the project.
    Work on the production phase in collaboration with the multimedia designer and the contents editor.
    Tell the multimedia programmer what the product must be like.
    Work on the work's postproduction process with the quality control technician and resolve any possible problems the latter has detected.
