Description

Entertainers are artists who act on all sorts of stages and for extremely varied audiences: theatres, cabars, clubs, circuses, but also in hotels, on cruises, in amusement parks, shopping centres, hospitals, nursing homes, schools and even in the street. Various types of entertainment exist, including: singing, monologues, playing a musical instrument, magic tricks, shows for children, miming shows, and many others Entertainers can specialise in a particular skill, or may combine several of them in their performances. This profession can be performed individually or as part of a group.

Tasks

  • Perform acts/performances (in the aforementioned contexts).
  • Prepare and rehearse new repertoires for performances.
  • Attend auditions or casting calls.
  • Prepare costumes, props and technical equipment required for the acts in their repertoire.
  • Promote their services, either to specialised companies or companis within the leisure and entertainment industry.
  • Entertainers working on cruises, in holiday resorts or similar places may, in addition to their normal tasks, also take on other duties such as organising activities for children or tourists.
  • This profession can be combined with other types of jobs, such as teaching or leading performance or expression workshops.
