Description

These professionals are responsible for helping waiters to prepare and serve meals and drinks in various dining establishments. Waiting assistants' specific duties depend on the type of establishment where they work (restaurant, bar, cafeteria, etc.) and to whether they are there to support the bar or dining area service.

Tasks

  • Move and store raw materials in the establishment's storage area and/or cellar.
  • Responsible for supplying the bar or dining area with food or drinks as they are requested.
  • Ensure that glasses, dishes, cutlery and tableware are restocked as necessary so that the dining areas/bar are always properly supplied.
  • Responsible for preparing and organising the tables, correctly arranging the chairs and preparing the entire table service.
  • Assistants who work in restaurants collaborate with waiters on all parts of the customer service process, from greeting them to distributing and collecting menus, taking orders and communicating them to the kitchen, and even doing some meat carving, flambeeing and garnishing, etc.
  • Clear tables and clear up the dining area and take material into the office.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the work surfaces.
