Description

The Avionics Project Manager is responsible for leading and developing projects relating to the installation of avionics systems in aircrafts. These include communications control units, components for measuring the craft's position (altitude, GPS position, etc.), safety, navigation and flight control machines. In other words, electronic devices and the electrical parts used on board. This professional's role spans all phases of the projects, from the pitch to the installation, testing and delivery of the working system to the client.

Tasks

  • Develop functional requirements of the avionics system specific to the project, using customer needs as a starting point. Develop an all-inclusive concept of the system and ensure compatibility and interfaces between components.
  • Plan the development of the project in terms of the calendar and effort required.
  • Select the components of the equipment that will integrate the avionics system to be installed.
  • Assign the development of the system's modules to the avionics software analysts and development technicians who form part of the project team.
  • Supervise the development of the project, manage related incidences and deal with the client's designated representative.
  • Manage the monitoring of the system's test processes until the client approves and accepts them.
  • Develop the project management tasks. Take control of the economic management of the project in line with the existing execution budget.
  • Deliver the result of the project to the customer, including all the necessary documentation relative to the development and testing process.
