User Interface expert, UI Designer, Interface Designer, Visual UI Designer

Description

UI (User Interface) design is a purely digital practice that considers all the visual and interactive elements of an interface: colour range, typography, shapes, composition and spacing, buttons, icons and photos. The objective of this design is to help guide users visually to create an intuitive and agile experience. Often special care must be taken that designs follow recommended principles of adaptability, usability and accessibility to ensure that everyone can access and view them correctly. In addition, a good interface must be consistent with the values and graphic identity of a brand, reinforcing them with a design that meets and is aesthetically pleasing.

UI Specialists define and implement visually appealing graphic elements to enrich the interaction between people with machines or digital products (website, apps, video games'). They are responsible for all stages of interface design, from the conceptualization of ideas that provide simplicity, robustness and ease of use, to the delivery of all technical documentation to the development or programming team. An ideal profile should have an eye for design and be able to translate requirements into user-friendly, attractive, intuitive and functional interaction flows and user interfaces.

These professionals usually coordinate the UX Expert (User Experience) to develop prototypes and models (wireframes and mock-ups) that allow defining the final visual design of the application. For this reason, the job market often asks for a single professional who is an expert in UI and UX.

Tasks

  • Understand product specifications, potential users' challenges and needs and the information collected in various reports (generated by departments and/or marketing managers, user experts, etc.) in order to devise a graphically clear interface coherent and attractive.
  • Conceptualize new sketches and design the prototypes of the Graphical User Interface (GUI), that is, the final aspect with which the user will interact.
  • Run simulations to focus on improving the user interface and evaluate the efficiency of different components.
  • Test usability to guarantee the accessibility of the applications and the correct visualization from different operating systems (using cognitive path techniques, heuristic evaluation, joint simulation, etc.).
  • Understand and draw conclusions from the results of the usability tests and the type of user defined to create new prototypes in the right direction.
  • Work with UX professionals and marketing managers to achieve visually appealing and coherent designs with the business brand that promote the product.
  • Review and update the designs also once they have been launched on the market, based on tests and feedback received by users.
