Description
The Operations Director will be responsible for the management of all company activities relating to purchasing, quality control and production planning. This professional operates in the environment of the small and medium-sized aeronautic construction businesses. This manufacturing area can often pose problems in terms of delivery deadlines, as in general, orders are one-off and non-repetitive, simultaneous production of different systems. In order to carry out his/her responsibilities this professional requires knowledge of short, mid and long term planning systems, control of materials and operations, and total quality management, aspects that constitute the management of the supply chain. (Supply Chain Management - SCM) The multifunctionality of the Operations Director's work is a fundamental factor; acting as a connection between the commercial and production department, and is responsible for determining committments with customers. Establish the planning for each of the orders received, and directly manage stocks, as well as customer product service.
Tasks
- In charge of the IT management of customers, suppliers, and the purchase orders that should be permanently updated.
- Take charge of the management of the quality control of a company, generally directed by the Quality Engineer.
- Solve any interdepartmental incidences that can emerge.
- Manages the maintenance of the tracking or traceability system, of the components in the end product. The traceability of the process allows the identification of all the components that integrate the product, as well as the specific operations that are undertaken in the manufacturing of each individual piece of equipment. This task is important as it involves registering the steps taken in the manufacturing of a product.
- Plan production and repair orders, establishing a system of priorities for this.
- Manages purchases and the supply flow so that the production process does not suffer delays and the production plan is executed in an optimum way.
