Industrial Planning Manager

Description

The production planning and scheduling director is in charge of planning and monitoring production, in accordance with the logistics plans of the company and human resources involved. His duties include organisational and engineering aspects and the management of logistics processes. This professional is therefore responsible for planning logistics material and resource requirements and participates in the definition of the layout of plant facilities, in addition to all aspects of management related to supply logistics, quality, maintenance, cost reduction and maximum flexibility in the production process. Although this professional reports to the Logistics Director, he has to interact with the rest of operations, production, purchasing and supply staff. Reports to the Logistics Director.

Tasks

  • In charge of drawing up the company's production schedule.
  • Devise and manage production plans, handle material requirements and define the necessary quantities.
  • Determine and calculate production volumes.
  • Draw up the production and supply schedule.
  • In accordance with the guidelines defined by the Logistics Director, determine ideal stock volumes in terms of materials, components and finished products to match the sales programme and customer demand.
  • Manage the Just In Time (a short-cycle, stock-less manufacturing system which helps reduce errors and improve quality) production system and ensure synchrony with supplier production.
  • Coordinate productive capacity with anticipated demand and enter the relevant data into the IT production system.
  • Provide information regarding the production process via MRP (MaterialRequirement Planning) type planning methods.
  • Organise the production process using MRP-I and 2 technology solutions which allow the computerised follow-up and control of production processes and execution times.
  • With the help of computer tools, determine the amounts to be produced and take the necessary measures to prevent interruptions in the production process.
  • Cooperate with the sales department to adapt production to the needs of the customer.
