Description

The graphic designer at an advertising agency is part of the creative team and carries out what the art director has creatively thought up. They can carry out all types of advertising projects: a printed advertisement, an advertising spot, external materials or an interactive product. In all these projects, with the exception of the interactive product, the creation of a communications message that makes an impact and conveys a very clear image will predominate, not the creation of many graphic elements and resources, like in the creation of a product catalogue or interactive product. More of a focus is placed on communicating the brand's image than on explaining the topics in detail. The general graphic designer carries out their task more in the last case.

Tasks

  • Participate in the creative process.
    The graphic designer publicist participates in the art director's graphic proposal, assists in carrying out parts of the proposal and carries it out once approved.
  • Carry out the graphic preliminary plan and, based on this, the final plans.
    Based on the graphic preliminary project approved by the client, i.e., the graphic sketch of the idea, the graphic designer carries out the plans, introduces the final elements for their production and creates the final master copy. For example, in the case of a printed advertisement, they will replace the photographic images suggested in the preliminary plans with the actual ones, correct their texts, make the images high resolution and indicate the colours and shaded areas for printing, as well as the indentations of the announcement's measurements.
