Description

Technical engineers in industrial design are responsible for developing the technical design project created by the industrial designer and preparing it for industrial production. Their work centres on any industrial sector with different production technologies, both for long serial production and short production runs. They must have in-depth knowledge of the industrial design project and different industrial processes and technologies,. Their objective is for products to be produced correctly with the spirit that is defined in the project, without modifications.

Tasks

  • Analyse the design project.
Jointly with the industrial designer, analyse the industrial design project, the different components, product assembly, transport and, lastly, the production systems required for the different components.
  • Develop the project industrially.
Elaborate all technical specifications for the correct production of each one of the components, modifying the project aspects deemed most suitable for correct production, provided that they never distort the initial project.
  • Follow the prototype realisation phase and final production phase.
Jointly with the different production managers, manage the execution of the prototypes and later initial series. Verify that the different components can be correctly assembled and, if there are problems, resolve them by initiating the process by modifying the technical project.
After the preliminary series is approved, the project enters into final production for each of the components and final assembly. In this final stage, the industrial engineer replaces the industrial design technician.
