Manager of intelligent information in companies

Description

Expert in business management whose mission is to manage the organization's information as a competitive edge. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) transform companies when used to intelligently exploit information: irrespective of whether it is generated in-house or systematically absorbed from outside the company. This intelligent exploitation of information requires professionals who go beyond process automation and manage new technologies to increase the personal and organizational competence of all members of the organization. Tasks

  • Vehicularize external information.
    Organize the systematic acquisition of relevant information on the company's competitive environment.
    Define the method, absorption service channels and their processing.
  • Edit the information.
    Design the "experience of transmitting information" to the receiver.
    Define general criteria on format, usefulness and user-friendliness that allow the recipient to understand the information in the shortest possible time.
  • Organize internal information.
    Select the most efficient internal information retrieval model for the receiver.
    Design processes and automatisms to take advantage of the possibilities of information technologies to better organize, store and recover information.
  • Promote the informational culture of the organization.
    Train and inform employees in order to to increase the quality of the internal information flow of the company.
  • Be a leader in knowledge management.
    Design a comprehensive vision of processes for identification, capture, distribution, sharing and evaluation of the information assets of an organization.
    Information assets are considered to be documents, as well as know-how, established procedures and processes, the experience and wisdom, tacit and not stored, residing in each of the employees. (Jim Blair, Gartner Group, quoted by Alfons Cornella, Infonomia.com, Deusto, p.198).
  • Lead the management of intellectual capital.
    Assess and preserve the information assets of a company and take the most advantage of them. The most common classification divides intellectual capital in:
    1. Human capital. That which is in the mind of individuals: knowledge, responsibilities, experiences, know-how.
    2. Structural capital: processes, information systems, databases.
