Description
This professional responsible for carrying out research projects in relation to new materials, new textiles applications, and developing new technologies for client companies who so request. In other words, this professional is responsible for researching and developing projects at the request of the client. On many occasions, in which client companies do not have their own R&D department, this is a way of outsourcing the development of new products or new textiels applications, while on others, it makes it possible to conduct tests on new materials using machinery that companies do not normally themselves possess (e.g. resistance, aging tests, etc.).
Tasks
Plan, execute and carry out monitoring of all research projects:
- Experimental laboratory work.
Basic operations (preparation of solutions, etc.).
Perform chemical or physical processes, etc. On various types of materials (textile substrates, polymers, metals, ceramics, etc.).
Perform processes based on new technologies (plasma, ultrasounds, based on Nanotechnology, etc.).
Macroscopic characterisation (determination of properties).
Conventional chemical analysis.
Surface analysis. - Project management tasks.
Regularly report the state of the projects to the person responsible for the research department.
Technical review of projects.
Project planning and responsibility assignment.
Priority classification of the work.
Promote regular internal meetings with other research workers in the department to promote know-how transfer.
Follow-up projects and decision making to ensure compliance. - Tasks associated with customer relationships.
Detection of company needs for the definition of new research projects.
Inform companies about existing tools for financing (grants, etc.) for research projects.
Inform companies about existing research projects.
Contact with research project customers and technical management. - Tasks related to promotion of the Technology and Research Center.
Definition (together with the person responsible for the department) of the guidelines for projects.
Definition of the strategic plan for the department.
Promotion of the technology centre.
Trainer and speaker in seminars, conferences, etc.
Participate in drafting technical reports (applications and justifications) for projects.
Promote creative ability.
Manage publications and patents with the department manager.
