Description

The landscaper is a professional who assesses, evaluates, creates, preserves, restores or reassesses territorial spaces at different scales: from a historic garden to planning at a regional scale, and including the landscaped area of an industry. Their objective is to make the maintenance and improvement of natural systems compatible with urban planning activities. To fulfil this objective, one must take into account the natural characteristics and the historic and cultural values of the place in question.

Tasks

  • Study the area where the project will be carried out from various perspectives: climatological, sociological, historical, geobotanical, economic, etc.
  • Draw up the design plans according to aesthetic, functional and environmental criteria.
  • Estimate the cost of the works that must be carried out and detail the sequence of the works.
  • Carry out or commission the environmental impact studies.
  • Coordinate the work, if necessary, with different professionals, such as urban planners, geographers, civil, agricultural and forest engineers, etc.
  • Monitor the project to ensure it is carried out according to the plans.
  • Contract and coordinate the suppliers.
  • Finalise the project.
  • Propose sustainable development through the introduction of different types of tourism: mass, rural, sports, adventure, etc.
