Description

The business manager is the person in charge of drawing up and carrying out the strategic business plan of design companies, in the event that they do not have another business structure under their responsibility. This professional's field of activity will greatly vary according to the activity of the design company (graphic design, industrial design, interior design or multi-disciplinary) and to the positioning defined within the company. For example an industrial design company specialised in the industrial design of transport vehicles, its strategy and activity will be commercially focused on the different industries of transport, automobiles and components, buses and bodyworks, bicycles, motorbikes and accessories. For this reason, it will definitely offer a service focused on innovation, as well as the design and development of new products. On the other hand, the strategy of the interior design company will be aimed more at providing services to sectors such as textiles or food, which have commercial points-of-sale, or to companies with a high presence at international fairs. For these sectors, the design company will offer projects related to interior design, temporary spaces as well as image and communication projects.

Tasks

  • Analyse the market in which the company operates.
    Analyse the company in its current situation, detect its possible competition, determine the company's competitive advantages and define them commercially.
    Analyse the market in which the company operates: potentially interesting sectors and companies and the geographic area(s) (local, national or international) of interest according to the company's objectives and internal capacities.
  • Draw up a business plan.
    Draw up a strategic business plan for the medium- and long-term, as well as the action plan, which includes the definition of a communication plan (communication or public relations), as well as the strategy for approaching new clients and keeping and increasing the loyalty of existing ones.
  • Carry out the strategic business plan.
    Manage the design and creation of the communication mediums and their updating.
    Manage and implement the plan for communication (advertisements) and for public relations (conferences, events, etc.), which have been devised in the business plan.
    Draw up contracts with current and potential clients, and oversee the regular tasks to attract and keep them (presentation of services, subsequent presentation of partnership proposals, follow-up, etc).
  • Manage customer service and the service provided by the company.
    Draw up partnership proposals with content, budgets and timings.
    Monitor the carrying out of the contracted project.
    Assess and continuously monitor customer satisfaction.
