This is the person in charge of defining the sales and marketing strategy for a particular area or destination, a tourist service, or a tourist and leisure promotion company or institution. Has an in-depth knowledge of the tourist market and directly intervenes in decisions regarding the timing and manner in which to market a tourist product.


  • Draw up the strategic and operational marketing Plan.
    Consider the company or institution's Strategic Plan.
    Prioritise the actions to be executed on the basis of the targets set.
    Define the promotion and marketing strategies, the target audience, messages, media and communication channels.
    Be aware of the tourist products and services offered by the competition.
    Offer complementary activities considering the different types of market.
    Create the promotional, advertising and public relations campaigns.
    Draw up a detailed budget including all of the items from the Marketing Plan and establish control mechanisms.
  • Implement the Operational Marketing Plan.
    Create links and negotiation strategies with the companies or institutions that operate in the area or activity to be promoted.
    Manage and control the marketing budget.
  • Promote and market the tourist product.
    Attend tourist promotion fairs.
    Keep track of sales and assess results.
    Design alternative strategies according to results and market evolution.
