Description

The Navigation Technician in Computer Science and Telecommunications focuses his or her activity on

the design, sale, installation and maintenance of all telecommunications systems dedicated to assisting

the navigation of all types of boats.

The electrical and communication systems in the boats make it easier for the signals to arrive and leave the boat by means of specific software and navigation equipment (installation of radars, GPS, autopilots / integrated bridge). In addition, there are boats where these systems are mandatory.

This professional usually works in companies that are part of a network of services at an international level in order to provide service where the ship is.

Tasks

  • ŋ Maintenance of electrical and communication systems on boats.
    ŋ Advising ship-owners on the most appropriate IT and telecommunication solutions for their needs.
    ŋ Supply, installation, maintenance and repair of naval electronics equipment in coordination with a multidisciplinary team of electrical, electronic and communications engineers.
    ŋ Ensure compliance with regulations and applicable legislation in force.
    ŋ Implementation of solutions related to communication, audio-video, monitoring and control of GMS / GPRS / 3G / 4G for voice and data transmission via satellite as well as radio, engine monitoring, sensors, automatic systems, alarms, TV, screens, public address systems and loudspeakers.
    ŋ Implementation of navigation and software solutions for radar, security, GPS, sonar and probe, dynamic positioning, integrated bridges, autopilots, home automation, night vision cameras and thermal cameras.
