Description

Professional dedicated to offering home hairdressing services to individuals or groups. hospitals, aged care, day centers, hotels, prisons, etc. On one hand, customers may be people with reduced mobility such as the physically disabled, older people, sick people, etc. And on the other, individuals that do not have time to go to the hairdressers at normal times, or who require special services for events such as weddings, etc.

Tasks

  • Perform the usual tasks of a hairdresser but with the peculiarity that it is outside the normal environment, and usually alone.
  • Prepare the space where the service will be performed, equipping the environment and preparing the instruments and products required for each session, guaranteeing hygienic health conditions.
  • Attend to the client in of a very personal way, discovering their preferences and advising on which hairstyles and tendencies best suit them.
  • Wash, cut and comb hair, change the color and form using chemicals, comb-ups, extensions, toupees, apply hair treatments, cut beards, mustaches and side-burns, etc. Always fulfill the customers requests and desires.
  • Offer other added-value services related to beauty treatments: manicure, pedicure, hair removal, make-up, etc.
  • In the case of weddings, a previous visit is in order to know the type of clothing to be worn by the bride or guest and the image to be transmitted. The hair style and make-up should then be designed to meets these circumstances.
  • Plan visits and appointments with maximum rigor.
  • Attend to calls from clients and give them appropriate appointments, asking for information about the type of service they will require on each visit.
  • Create record cards for each customer. This ensures personalized treatment and leaves a record of the work or treatments being done to the hair on each visit.
  • Follow-up of regular customers and even make proactive reminder calls for new appointments. In the same way, try to capture new clients to add to the portfolio, always adjusting to skills and availability, so as not to over-dimension the business.
  • Control the stock of cosmetic products and consumables, and issue purchase orders to replace them.
  • After each visit, charge customers for services received.
  • Always be up-to-date, know the latest trends in hairstyles, colors, techniques, etc., through specialized magazines, catalogs, courses, workshops, demonstrations, etc.
