Description

A specialist in coloring areas of the face or body by applying pigments under the skin as permanent make-up. The coloring agents are introduced to a depth between 0.8 mm and 1.5 mm, unlike the tattoo technique where they are below 1.5 mm. The application takes place using disposable needles that are connected to an electrical machine or tattoo gun. In the majority of cases this job is performed by beauty specialists that are specialized in micropigmentation. The treatment has a decorative purpose in that it enhances certain areas of the face such as the lips, eyebrows, eyes, etc. But it is also used to repair scars, breast aureoles, vitiligo, etc.

Tasks

  • Receive and advise the client, offering full information about the technique of micropigmentation (permanent make-up), so that they consider the possibility of having the treatment.
  • Create a record card for each customer with personal details and a study of the color, type of skin, eyes, shape of the face, etc. Also consult them about any allergies or disorders such as diabetes, hemophilia, keloids, herpes, etc.
  • Study the type of micropigmentation to be applied in each case, including the changes that will take place in the physical appearance depending on the design applied: micropigmentation of eyebrows, lips, etc. The aim is to be as natural as possible.
  • Perform allergy tests on the customer about one week before the appointment. This pigment test takes place by applying it in an area that is not very visible and checking if the skin accepts the treatment without problems.
  • Select the best type of pigment for each case, choosing appropriate colors, or mixing new colors. This requires a knowledge of colourimetry.
  • Prepare all the material required, sterilising the devices and instruments to be used.
  • Disinfect the area of skin to be treated, shaving areas if necessary.
  • Apply topical anesthetic to the areas where the micropigmentation will be applied.
  • Trace the design onto the skin and immediately afterwards insert pigments, filling in the area with the tattoo gun (electric or electronic).
  • Once the work is completed, apply a healing, soothing and anti-inflammatory treatment.
  • Discard all disposable material used in the treatment.
  • Explain a series of hygienic procedures to the customer to avoid problems.
  • Follow-up the customer's progress, controlling tattooed areas after 2 or 3 weeks, and retouching them if necessary.
  • For customers who repeat micropigmentation, recovers all the information about the previous treatment and prepare the new one according to customer demands.
