Trichology Specialist

Description

This is the professional who carries out a capillary diagnosis by analysing the scalp and its physiognomy. He/she determines existing problems in different types of hair and carries out treatment recommendations, as well as the application of the products and the most suitable techniques to achieving a solution. Capillary treatments are done in order to prevent or a problem or change in the hair, and to maintain the hair in good condition. Appliances, cosmetics and massages are combined to achieve this. Results are obtained after a sequence of correctly scheduled sessions.

Tasks

  • Analyse the hair and the scalp carrying out a diagnosis of the problem suffered by the client. To achieve this, a thorough observation is undertaken and the most suitable diagnostic capillary tests applied, for example: suet test, Sabouraud test, sign of Jacquet, traction test, trichogram, etc.
  • Prepare the customer's technical data sheet, compiling all the data that they can be of interest for the diagnosis and monitoring of the case: name, age, employment, case history, problem under inquiry, data from the examination, etc.
  • Design the treatment that is to be applied: selecting products and technical means, determining the number of sessions, frequency of the application, etc.
  • Inform the interested party and communicate the diagnosis made and treatment proposed. The time of application is specified, the frequency, expected outputs, etc. in a realistic manner, without creating false expectations.
  • Carry out the application of the treatment, just as it has been designed, with products, certain tools and predetermined frequencies. Appliances, specific cosmetic products and massages are combined in these treatments.
  • Manage the monitoring and evaluation of the process to detect unforeseen deviations, and to apply necessary corrective actions.
  • After the completion of treatment, an evaluation and registering of the case is carried out.
  • If the treatment of the capillary problem cannot be carried out in the hairdressers, guide the customer to other appropriate professionals, such as medical specialists.
  • In the event that the patient receives dermatological and aesthetic treatment at the same time, verify that cosmetic products do not produce interactions with the medications taken.
  • Take the necessary precautions to guarantee good hygienic conditions and cleanliness of utensils and linen following each service.
  • Inform the patient of the most suitable everyday treatment required for your hair: suitable washing frequency, use of certain cosmetic products for capillary hygiene, etc. With the aim of strengthening treatment results and guaranteeing good health for the hair and scalp.
