Description

The specialist in aesthetic massage dominates the principal techniques for face and body beauty treatments. Aesthetic massage consists of applying various techniques aimed at improving the condition of the skin and tissues Depending on the previous aesthetic diagnosis, the professional will perform lymphatic drainage, or an anti-cellulite, refirming, or remodeling massage, etc. More common massage techniques have now been further enhanced by recently introduced oriental massage techniques and the combination with alternative therapies using new substances with aesthetic properties: mud, seaweed, chocolate, honey, essential oils, etc. The purpose of aesthetic massages are correct body maintenance, and more so if they are combined with body toning exercises. They are highly recommended to treat the appearance of cellulitis, obesity, muscular flabbiness, after childbirth or whenever it is difficult to lose weight.

Tasks

  • Welcome customers, usually with a scheduled appointment, and advise them on the treatments which might suit them best according to their beauty care diagnosis. Inquire about what customers expect from the massage, their past experiences and find out whether they are experiencing any problems with a particular part of their body.
  • Decide on the massage technique to be applied, choosing the movements to be executed according the diagnosis made and adapting the process to the personal characteristics of the customer.
  • Keep customers informed of the method applied and its results at all times, explaining each technique and its benefits, in details if need be.
  • Prepare and adapt the facilities, equipment and products needed for the treatment to the conditions required in order to apply the chosen technique.
  • Proceed to carrying out the massage according to the chosen techniques and the manoeuvres selected as per the established location, intensity and time parameters. The massage consists of manipulating the soft tissues of the body: kneading, friction, rolling, tapping, etc.
  • Must ensure the well-being and comfort of the customer during the treatment. It is advisable to create the most favourable settings: ideal temperature, dim or diffuse lighting, ambient music, appropriate scents, etc.
