Hydraulic site manager

Description

These professionals generally work in the technical office of companies dedicated to renewable energies and their main role involves designing feasibility plans and projects. They form part of a group of professionals who offer technical support for the writing of hydrological studies and completion of hydraulic construction projects. They work for clients such as Water supply and treatment consortiums, Hydrographic Confederations, the General Directorate of Water, autonomous communities' water services, etc.

Tasks

  • Design, produce and execute hydraulic construction projects (dams, canals, tanks, power stations, etc.).
  • Determine ideal locations, draw up maps and carry out technical calculations.
  • Calculate the design and structure for supply and treatment networks. Set design parameters, apply calculation models, model the networks and detect limitations.
  • Analyse the safety condtions in dam facilities through inspections, structural security, hydraulic checks, territorial zoning, marking of flood zones, etc.
  • Perform risk analyses. Identify and measurable undesirable scenarios and determine the possible causes and consequences thereof.
  • Interpret data recorded by the Automatic Hydrological Information System (AHIS) and draw up reports and forecasts with the ultimate aim of optimising water resources.
