Housekeeper

Description

The housekeeping supervisor is the professional in charge of organising and supervising the floor and communal area service in establishments providing accommodation and lodging . His/her areas of activity include the set-up and administration of accommodation services, the maintenance of communal areas and customer care in the departments of the establishment which fall under his/her responsibility .

Tasks

  • Organise the resources required to provide the apartment service, organise the cleaning service and supervise the smooth operation of facilities in rooms and communal areas.
  • Manage the room service task force, reporting to the accommodation manager.
  • Establish the distribution of apartment, room and laundry service staff in order to guarantee a suitable and efficient service.
  • Train the team in work routines, showing them how to make the beds, collect the laundry and possessions of customers and clean the bathrooms. Also in charge of the administration of work schedules.
  • Supervise the cleaning and servicing of rooms and communal areas.
  • Control and supervise the supply of bathroom towels, bedroom linen, cleaning products and the equipment and furniture required to provide the service.
  • Program the activities to be carried out with regard to the repair of facilities and furniture according to the general maintenance plan.
  • Supervise customer and staff laundry and servicing processes.
  • Respond to specific requests and complaints expressed by guests (either directly or via the reception service), in order to ensure optimum satisfaction, comfort and safety within the establishment.
  • Supervise the work of subcontracted cleaning companies.
  • Process the purchase orders required for his/her department.
  • Occasionally work jointly with the reception department to allocate rooms
