Description

The hotel bookings manager handles advance bookings for rooms and services provided by the establishment. His/her work is key to achieving occupation targets. In most hotels, this occupation is linked to the reception department, although in some cases the bookings department operates in an independent manner .

Tasks

  • Must have an impeccable knowledge of the hotel services on offer and their conditions of use in order to be able to provide the appropriate information to customers.
  • Must know all about rates, promotions, discounts, payment methods...
  • Process bookings in real time, adapting the price of accommodation to current availability at any given time.
  • Take bookings for accommodation and hotel services, specifying arrival and departure dates and the number of guests due to be lodged in the establishment.
  • Be familiar with the different types of booking available (back to back, series, FIT).
  • Know how many spaces are available at all times and update the booking register accordingly.
  • Process cancellations and modifications.
  • Know the agencies, companies, reservation centres, etc. which tend to bring in regular customers and their links with the hotel.
  • Update the Cardex, the file which contains client details.
