Description

These professionals are in charge of providing guidance and relevant information adapted to the demands and needs expressed by visitors to a town, city or tourist destination of one or several tourist services, with the aim of facilitating their trip and stay, as well as enriching their tourist experience. We can usually find these professionals in a tourist office.

Tasks

These professionals carry out the following tasks:
  • Serve visitors and provide them with information:
    Responsible for booking, promoting and marketing services: accommodation, restaurants, excursions, transport, shows, events and other products.
    Listen to visitors' impressions, suggestions and complaints, and convey them to the tourism promotion manager in the area in order to improve the service and its image.
  • Separate informative material (maps, brochures, documentation about routes, museums, transport, etc.) and promotional material about activities, hotels and restaurants and other auxiliary services and ensure that all information is up to date.
  • Organise and implement the necessary resources to provide an information service, for local residents and foreign visitors:
    Organise information in the office or information point.
    Liaise with other information officers and with those responsible in order to provide thorough information about the area and routs of interest.
