Description

Shop managers are responsible for the total management of the shop. They are responsible for areas such as personnel management (permanent or temporary), inventory and stock control, management of the shop's image and its maintenance (facilities), monitoring of sales achievement according to objectives as well as implementation of company policies.

Usually these professionals depend on the Commercial or Management Division and very often are the link between the point of sale and the central company.

Tasks

Shop managers carry out the following tasks:
  • Management of the commercial team of the shop:
    Hire and manage the staff according to the needs of the shop and maintain a list of candidates in case in the event that there is a worker on leave.
    Organize and distribute the team's work (shop assistants, cashiers, etc.) and depending on the people available organize work shifts in order to ensure the smooth running of the shop and customer satisfaction.
    Keep track of staff hours and vacations.
    In charge of training the sales team.
  • Responsible for the correct maintenance of the shop:
    Supervise the general maintenance of the shop and the warehouse and contract the necessary services to do it.
    Check the shop windows and warehouse and check that there is a correct rotation of the products.
  • Responsible for the organization and management of the shop:
    Act as an interlocutor between the shop staff and the management.
    Supervise the application of the company's philosophy, as well as the procedures and guidelines from the headquarters.
    Control the operating account to achieve the sales targets set as well as the cash, billing and budget of the shop.
    Ensure the corporate image of the company, and act as Public Relations and as an interlocutor with customers.
    Generate orders in order to keep product stocks at optimal levels for sales and are responsible for the inventory.
    Manage marketing campaigns according to the particular situation of the shop.
    Plan the window dressing and merchandising management in order to attract potential buyers.
