Yield Manager

Description

The person in charge of planning, organizing, managing, and controlling the sales process with the main goal of maximizing income, whether of one establishment or a hotel group. Through determining prices and controlling the inventory, the Revenue or Pricing manager seeks efficient management of perishable assets (rooms, tables in a restaurant, etc.) to achieve the goal of maximizing income.

Tasks

  • Daily control of sales.
  • Management and control of the demand according to the types of clients (sectors, individual, organized groups).
  • Analysis and control of:
    - Demand curves.
    - Pick up (expected rise of occupation).
    - Predictions of occupation.
    - Predictions of cancellations.
    - Predictions of "no shows" (guests with bookings that do not arrive).
    - Predictions of "over stays" (guests that want to lengthen their stay).
    - Predictions of "under stays" (guests that want to shorten their stay).
  • Definition of the product offer adjusted to demand, including packages".
  • Management and control of the inventory, in other words, of the volume of assets (rooms, seats) taking demand into consideration.
  • Management of sales service channels whether direct (salesmen, booking agents, website) or indirect ("GDS" Global Distribution systems, "CRS" Booking centers, "IDS" Internet Distribution Systems, travel agencies and tour operators), so that each one has a suitable number and type of inventory and at an appropriate price so that sale contributes to maximizing income.
  • Management and control of prices taking into account the demand and sensitivity.
