Description

The bellboy is a person attached to the reception department, whose main responsibility is to look after customers from their arrival until their departure, helping them with their luggage or other personalised services such as arranging taxi transport. Currently based at the actual reception desk, although this does not entail relinquishing his/her own organisation and duties, which are coordinated by the head of department, i.e., the Head of Reception.

Tasks

  • Provide housekeeping related customer services.
  • Inform customers of the services available in the lodgings.
  • Carry out the required customer service tasks (event ticket bookings, restaurant bookings, flight confirmations, airport luggage claims, etc.).
  • Transfer telephone calls and deliver mail or messages to customers during their stay.
  • Keep stock of customer luggage items, their storage and transport.
  • Contribute to keeping the reception and concierge areas tidy and clean.
  • Escort customers to their rooms and explain to them how to operate the lights and how to use other services.
  • Carry out "simple" administrative tasks and procedures both inside and outside of the establishment.
  • In charge of parking, watching and guarding customer vehicles if requested to do so.
  • Lend support to the rest of the workers in the establishment when necessary.
