Description
The inverse logistics manager is in charge of organising and handling the reverse logistic flow of products in light of their renewed sale, recycling, refuse or waste treatment. Inverse logistics therefore consist in managing the return of goods to the supply chain in the most cost-effective and efficient manner possible. This business department handles the recovery of used materials, such as containers, packaging and hazardous waste, as well as inventory surplus return processes, materials returned by customers, obsolete products or seasonal inventories. Inverse logistics - also known as retro-logistics or green logistics - not only involves a cost reduction for the company thanks to the reuse of materials which were no longer meant to be used, but also represents an indisputable environmental benefit.
