Responsible for production planning are responsible for planning the production in a company by implementing and executing their quality, environment and safety policies. They are responsible for controlling the production according to the logistic plans of the company and the human resources concerned. Their tasks related to organization, engineering and logistics management.

Thus, these professionals are responsible for planning the production and the requirements of materials and resources regarding logistics, and take part in the factory distribution, as well as all the management aspects related to supply logistics, quality, maintenance, cost reduction and the maximum flexibility in the production process.

They usually depend on the production manager or factory manager and must interact with the rest of operation, production, purchasing and supply professionals.

• Plan the production according to management guidelines. Design and is in charge of appropriated production plans, material requirements and ratios.
• Manage the productive system Just In Time (production method aimed at meeting customer demand exactly, in time and quantity in order to reduce mistakes and increase quality) and synchronize it with suppliers' productive systems.
• In accordance with Purchase and Logistic Departments set the suitable stock regarding not only materials and components but also finished products in order to meet the selling planning and the requirements of the clients.
• Receive, plan and prioritise orders. Work along with the sales department in order to adapt production to the client's requirements and negotiate the delivery time.
• Ensure quality control.
• Oversee that production complies with Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Protection standards.
• Ensure a positive work environment.
