Supply Logistics Director of Supply

Description

The supply manager supervises the scheduling of supplies derived from the production programme. He is in charge of ensuring that goods or material reception plans or or schedules are fulfilled to ensure these are supplied to production or distribution lines. One of the duties of the supply manager is therefore to prevent the production chain from stalling due to a lack of materials. May report to the Material Management Director or the Production Control Director.

Tasks

  • This is the person in charge of avoiding stoppages in the production line as a result of lack of materials.
  • Establishes supply standards and policies.
    Help draw up supplier or subcontractor provision plans.
    Intervene in the definition of the operational and communication procedures to be followed between the companies and the departments involved in the supply process.
    This is the person in charge of implementing supply schedules.
    Set up the response procedures to be implemented in the event of potential contingencies or deviations from the established plans.
  • Establish stock levels and regulations:
    Collaborate and coordinate with supplier companies or subcontractors to fulfil provision plans and schedules.
    In charge of managing the supply of raw materials to the production line.
  • Define the scope of application of the JIT (Just In Time, that is, to produce with minimum stocks ) policy.
  • Adviser to the Logistics Director on logistics matters.
