Machinery supervisor.

Machinery setter is a profession born parallelly with the automation of machines, especially those with numerical control. This professional prepares the coordinates of the machinery that is to be used. Then, the worker only has to place and remove the pieces or products that need to be machined and monitor the operation of the equipment. This job is present in companies that have teams working on medium and large production series. In the case of machines operating in small series or units, conventional machine tools are used, even if numerical control is used, and machinery preparation is usually done by the operator himself. It depends on the workshop or plant manager or production manager. Industry evolution means that these professionals are increasingly in demand, with experience in handling machines that use numerical control.

• Prepares and starts the machines for the production process in accordance with production department instructions.
• Records change times.
• Ensure that there are no problems with the machines that, due to their preparation, decrease production.
• Develops improvements and modifications to machines to optimize the production process.
• Maintain a fluid relationship with the maintenance department in order to avoid production downtime.
• Trains the machinery preparation team.
