Machining centre expert.

Description

Machining centres are multi-purpose machine-tools that work through chip-cutting and carry out various types of operations (turning, milling, drilling, boring, etc.) on a single piece of metal. The worker regulates the machine and oversees the automatic making of the pieces, based on a pre-established programme, entering the machining data in the numerical control. The machining centre worker answers to the plant manager or production director.

Tasks

  • Prepare the machining centre for the production of the piece, in accordance with data provided by the production department.
  • Supervise the machining operations.
  • Make sure that the pieces or products manufactured by the machining centre meet the quality levels indicated in the technical specifications of the manufacturing orders.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the machining centre.
