Description

These professionals are responsible for the organisation, management and results derived from the production process that is carried out under the principles of lean manufacturing.

One of the pillars of this production system is the fact of including operations, suppliers, and customer relations as a whole when planning and preparing a production process, with the aim of using the minimum number of resources to obtain the desired product. These resources include capital, workforce workloads, space consumption (e.g., in storage) and the time required to produce products without defects and incorporating the requirements set by the customer.

Consequently, their responsibility is focused on having the right resources in the right place, at the right time and in the right quantity, avoiding waste of all kinds of resources and encouraging flexibility in the manufacturing process in order to adapt to possible changes in the manufacturing process.

Tasks

  • Implement the corporate tools and programmes in Lean Manufacturing as a strategy, as well as training plans for the production plant staff, defining and documenting the processes to be used in training and continuous improvement.
  • Define the indicators as well as the communication within the production plant of the objectives and the monitoring of the lean production system.
  • Lead and are responsible for the implementation of adaptations in manufacturing processes and workflows for the corresponding production area, improving industrial performance in manual and automatic processes.
  • Ensure the operational functioning of each process: defining the necessary tools and drawing up standards for handling parts in each section, defining work instructions for each area and part, and ensuring the quality procedures implemented.
  • Detect opportunities for improvement in production processes and implement them. Promote, supervise, and coordinate continuous improvement in the different work centres.
  • Advise on the strategic plans of the company's different production centres.
  • Define development plans for new projects.
  • Programme and carry out internal audits.
  • Collaborate and actively participate in the implementation, management, review and improvement of all elements of the Integrated Safety, Environment and Quality Management System.
