Description

This party is in charge of independently and responsibly executing industrialised and graded patterns, verifying the prototype production with the design. Also in charge of of the transformation of base either manually or using the computer, using CAD textile programs. The designer/grader works in the Pattern Department, reporting directly to and working closely with the Design Department.

Tasks

  • Interpret the instructions received from designers.
  • Create the pattern for the prototype according to the specifications of the Design Department.
    Analyze the designs received: Analyze sketches of the garments; study the design notes for each garment.
    Draft technical specifications: Specify the technical characteristics of each garment; indicates the location of different accessories
    Create the base pattern: Produce the pattern in paper or cardboard or using a technical support (following the steps indicated in the computer program).
  • Coordinate the prototypes manufacturing process and any modifications of the base pattern.
    Coordinate the prototype process together with the designer.
    Analyze and incorporate any changes needed on the base pattern.
    Correct any errors detected.
    Create records for the approved patterns.
  • Create the patterns for the approved prototypes.
  • Carry out the scaling by hand or using the computer (technical process to develop different sizes) for approved garments.
  • Carry out the marking by hand or using the computer, verifying that the pieces and measurements are correct.
