Description

It should be mentioned that the line between the different occupations and specialties that work with iron, steel and other metals used in construction works does not appear to be well-defined. For this reason, the primary name of locksmith was adopted, although some of the jobs referred to on this sheet also tend to be carried out by professionals of other occupations related to this field. Metals, especially iron, then steel and most recently alloys, are materials that are always present in different elements of buildings, from locks and door knockers to various structural elements in laminated profiles, and including enclosures, railings, bars, etc. This sheet includes the basic characteristics of the tasks that are carried out by professionals who perform jobs with metals in works related to construction, restoration or rehabilitation, such as doors, windows, enclosures, locks, keys, padlocks, door bolts, door knockers, hinges, stairs, bars, railings, etc.
