Description

The current heating and water systems of buildings serve to meet the demands of interior heating comfort and a supply of domestic hot water (DHW) that is suitable. In turn, they allow for a rational use of energy, for both financial and environmental reasons. The current respective regulations in force set forth the design and installation of efficient heating and DHW systems, as well as suitable maintenance that ensures that the systems and all their parts retain their initial performance and properties.

Within this context, the installer of heating and water systems is a professional specialised in the carrying out of different jobs related to the installation and maintenance of heating and DHW systems in buildings, those of industrial as well as domestic use.

Tasks

  • Previously study the work space or area, organise and plan the process and mechanics of the works.
  • Interpret the plans and sketches of the climate control and DHW systems.
  • Break down the elements that must be installed.
  • Carry out the material measurements based on the plans and on site.
  • Select the basic materials and equipment.
  • Place and set up radiators or heating units.
  • Plan and set up the supply network, connecting the different elements and accessories of the system.
  • Set up or install boilers and accumulators.
  • Set up taps, valves, control devices and automatic devices for temperature regulation.
  • Verify the systems and carry out the seal integrity tests.
  • Start up the networks.
  • Carry out works related to maintenance, preservation and repair of networks and equipment.
  • Maintain the tools, machinery and equipment used for the work.
  • Handle the objects, tools, materials, auxiliary resources as well as the group and individual protections that are necessary for carrying out the works.
