Description

The auditor of pest control systems is the one responsible for verifying that the pest control systems used, the companies that offer these services, and the companies that manufacture, store or sell pesticides comply with the current regulations. They must verify the use of techniques that are the least polluting for the environment and human health. The auditor must ensure confidentiality, since they must know all the company's industrial processes in order to perform their tasks. Pest control companies work in two fields: The phytosanitary field (where pesticides for agricultural, livestock or plant health purposes are used) and the environmental field (public spaces, buildings, etc).

Tasks

  • Check the condition of establishments.
Verify that the company is registered with the administration and that it complies with requirements set forth in the regulations on pesticide establishments and services.
The auditor must verify that the company offers and carries out pest control services in accordance with the authorisation it has obtained to operate, whether it is in the phytosanitary, environmental or food industry.
  • Ensure that the good practices are applied.
Verify that the companies apply the sector's good practices: a thorough inspection of the place where the treatment will be carried out, a previous assessment of the best pest prevention strategy, the diagnosis of the problem and, based on this, the selected solution, which is not always treatment with pesticides.
  • Check the products' conditions of use.
Verify that the products used are authorised by the Directorate General of Public Health and Consumer Affairs of the Ministry of Health, that they are the suitable ones for each case and that they are used correctly.
  • Conditions of the people.
Check that establishments' staff possess the accreditation required for their functions and spheres of action (DDD - Disinfection, Disinsection, Deratisation - treatment applier card or phytosanitary product handling card).
