This professional designs, directs and supervises the construction or rehabilitation work and maintenance programmes of specific facilities, such as thermal, hotel, restaurant or equipment facilities, among others.

• Create, together with the architect, the design of the installations, plan the orientation of the building, openings, materials and heating and cooling systems to achieve optimum energy consumption.
• Design functional services areas appropriate to the needs of the establishment (if necessary).
• Plan parking areas, facilitate the movement of vehicles and consider correct smoke extraction.
• Design installations for the reduction and treatment of waste and adapt the installation of drainage and water supply connections.
• Ensure correct movement of people and accessibility to spaces, considering people with physical disabilities.
• Consider energy savings and different environmental control mechanisms to achieve the comfort of the spaces: heat recovery, control of unused spaces by separating the lighting, ventilation and heating, use of alternative energies, etc.
• Plan for television, telecommunications and Internet installations.
• Design fire prevention measures.
• Design spaces and choose building materials that enable efficient cleaning of the facilities.
• Design the maintenance program for the facilities.
