Description

Project engineers are involved in designing and launching water infrastructures. They also implement whatever is necessary in order to maximise the effectiveness of the systems which are subsequently built and installed by the water treatment company's production department. When the production department needs to modify existing systems or implement new ones or new installations, it is the process engineering department which is requested to start working on developing these. This is a technical role which requires large amounts of collaboration with other departments, as well as often involving leading multidisciplinary teams.

Tasks

  • Formulate, design and draw up project plans for the construction of a water treatment plant.
  • Collaborate on the design of the facility alongside the designated draughtsman for the project.
  • Calculate the nature and dimensioning of the machines, pipe networks, utility networks, etc.
  • Establish the technical and functional specifications of the machines, tools, materials and accesories involved in the project, bringing all of this together through the drawing up of technical documentation.
  • Maintain direct contact with various suppliers in order to consider different technical and economic options where the machines and tools are concerned. Equally, serve as the link between other parties involved, including official bodies, institutions, construction companies and architects, among others.
  • Monitor the different phases of completion of the project according to set criteria and plans.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests. These are a series of tests conducted in the presence of the client in order to demonstrate that the facilities meet the requirements laid out in the specification and design documents.
  • Participate on an occasional basis in the commissioning of new facilities. There may be a commissioning engineer in place with whom you will have to coordinate on this.
  • Work in conjunction with electrical and control engineers on the calculation, design and integration of power boxes and lines for the equipment. Also required to liaise with the engineers responsible for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning in order to ensure the proper integration of auxiliary systems.
