The tower crane operator is specialised in the handling and basic maintenance of tower cranes used for lifting and transporting the loads required in the carrying out of construction works. The portable tower crane consists of a machine in discontinuous operation used for handling loads suspended from a hook or from any other hoisting system, which in turn hangs from a boom or from a car that moves the crane around. The boom can be moved in different directions so that the crane can pick up or leave any load within a certain cylindrical volume. The tower crane, created to be used in construction works and for other uses, is designed to withstand frequent assembly and dismantling, as well as movement between different locations.
