As part of the project management (group of professionals who have the responsibility of directing the works), construction managers carry out the technical function of directing the material execution of the work, controlling what is built in a qualitative and quantitative way and carrying out the quality control of the work.

In works of medium or small size, often construction managers also carry out the function of controlling the quality levels of the materials that the building has marked. Based on these levels, the quality control program for the materials that will need to be followed will have been previously prepared to ensure that agreed qualities are met.

In some works of large or very large size, the quality control of the materials can be assumed by a specific technician for quality control who will work as an assistant to the director of execution of the work in order to monitor this quality control program and verify compliance.

• Occasionally contribute to the project phase, drawing up building and material quality criteria, etc.
• Visit the building site to ensure that plans are being followed and check the execution status.
• Carry out a cost follow-up and analyse potential deviations.
• Monitor execution and contracting schedules.
• Follow-up and control the planning and building works carried out by the contractor.
• Draw up, follow and certify the quality control program defined by the Technical Building Code for the different construction processes.
• Carry out the control of materials and request tests and/or trials.
• Proceed to the control of the execution of the works once completed.
• Review the certifications of the construction company to ensure these are valid and that all the documentation required by the building act ("LOE") and the Technical Building Code ("CTE") has been provided for the building works.
• Prepare and follow the quality control program of the materials of the work in different construction processes.
• Perform the control of materials and requests tests and/or trials, recording the results and preparing the control monitoring documentation to report possible deviations.

Knowledge regarding specific techniques of strategic administration and business management are required to carry out these activities.

The planning, organisation, control and carrying out of logistics and administrative tasks are the focus of people who work in the field of logistics. Activities in the field of logistics include the organisation and planning of supply, storage, production and distribution systems, taking inventories, controlling stock and estimating production, as well as the organisation and/or carrying out of the administrative tasks necessary for the implementation of these activities. Knowledge of organisation, control and management techniques is essential for carrying out these activities.

Technician

People who show an interest in the technical field find fulfilment in carrying out activities related to the design and manufacture of objects, machines, vehicles and/or infrastructures. These activities require the application of scientific and technical knowledge (laws of physics, calculations and mathematical formulas, properties of the materials, etc). Creativity is also necessary when coming up with optimal solutions for the functional requirements of the products to be designed. Therefore, the pragmatic application of scientific knowledge in order to develop solutions for the benefit of human beings is the main function of occupations in the technical field.

  Full day and wide schedule. The most common are from 8 - 8.30 am to 2 pm and in the afternoon from 3.30 pm to 8 pm

  It basically depends on the type of company and the experience provided, and ranges between 60,159 euros and 88,810 euros gross per year. The average salary is around 73,093 euros gross per year.
