Thermo-clay layer; Bricklayer specialised in the execution of masonry using thermo-clay blocks.

Description

"Thermo-clay bricks" consist of a lightened ceramic block with particular characteristics, including good mechanical behaviour and an adequate degree of thermal and acoustic insulation. These characteristics allow a single-sheet wall to be constructed, as an alternative solution to traditional walls, with a chamber of air and insulating materials, which reduce the cost and improve the performance of these elements without having to relinquish load-bearing capacity and an adequate level of insulation. This product appeared in Germany in 1966 and arrived in our country in 1988 via the Thermo-Clay Brick Manufacturing Consortium. After marking a progressive growth over the first few years, at the end of the 90s a significant increase in the implementation of this product was experienced, as a result of the fact that the Consortium designed and developed a block adapted to the Spanish market and the dictates of recommendations and criteria for its suitable placement. In recent years there has been a considerable rise in their popularity and, accordingly, an increasing demand for professionals who specialise in laying them. As such, thermo-clay bricklayers are professionals specialising in performing the various tasks required by the construction of various building elements that make use of lightweight clay brick masonry, and are in particular responsible for constructing faades.

  • Complete a pre-study of the area that is to be worked, before starting work, using project or graphical documentation. Then prepare the work area and environment.
  • Choose and prepare materials, tools, machines, auxiliary resources and the personal and collective protective equipment necessary to the execution of works.
  • Redefine the elements that are to be built via measurement operations and localisation levelling, the tracing of lines (straight, curved, perpendicular, diagonal...), levelling and plumbing, placement of rulers or viewers, definition of apparatus and vertical and horizontal modulation of blocks.
  • Build different constructive elements with fireproof bricks such as pillars, walls, lintels, coronations, etc., as established in the project implementation plan.
