Description

Research technicians take part in basic or applied research projects, taking care of the equipment or tools, following the instructions given to them by the lead researcher on the project. They generally work in the space field, as part of both national and international organisations and public research centres and, less often, in industry. The sector comprises a range of different fields: from the conception and development of missions or studies with scientific aims, such as the exploration and characteristics of space or planets, or with more commercial aims, such as exploring resources available and how to use them, or the applications of satellites (telecommunications, navigation and positioning, meteorology, Earth observation, etc.).

Tasks

  • Collaborate in the preparation of financial proposals under the supervision of the the lead researcher.
  • Execute research tasks assigned to the researcher.
  • Supervise and monitor projects undertaken by staff being managed.
  • Produce and manage the conservation of the documentation supporting research tasks.
  • Ensure the correct maintenance of equipment used in the undertaking of the project, for which another team can be used.
