These professionals are in charge of checking that the manufactured products follow the established specifications and are qualitatively correct. They also manage quality documentation and records of problems arising during the manufacturing process, so they have to know how to use instruments and industrial machinery (such as micrometres, gauges, calipers, three-dimensional machines, etc.), as well as IT tools for collecting and analysing the data obtained. All this documentation that they collect must be integrated into all types of control systems and verification documentation.

The product quality verification process aims to detect defective pieces that present problems as soon as possible and eliminate them from the production chain. In this way, the costs of the production process are minimised, and the quality of the final product is guaranteed.

There is a direct connection between product quality checkers and the quality control department, given that the guidelines for quality control are laid down by this department, which has to decide whether the parts inspected are acceptable or not, in the light of the results of the verification.

• Carry out the inspection tasks based on the requirements set by the technical office. Based on these requirements, draw up inspection work instructions and elaborate the corresponding control plan.
• Produce reports based on inspections made and depending on results obtained, the pieces of the product examined are validated.
• Interpret plans if necessary, as well as technical manufacturing requirements.
• Verify parts and components, according to instructions from the quality control department.
• Complete the documentation for inspection and quality control of parts.
• In the event of an incident, inform those responsible for production and quality.
• Supervise the calibration of quality control devices.
