Electromechanical technician for industrial maintenance. Maintenance manager. Maintenance mechanic .

Description

The electromechanical technician is the person responsible for the maintenance of the work equipment at companies' production centres. This technician carries out a very important task in the manufacturing production processes, given that suitable maintenance makes it possible for the work equipment to always be operational and prevents downtime in the production systems due to various problems. There is a type of maintenance, which is associated to the traditional repair of a breakdown (preventive), that is often confused with the more general concept of maintenance. On the other hand, there is another type called preventive maintenance, which is real maintenance. This type makes it possible to avoid breakdowns, via preventive organisation and insofar as is possible, in order to ensure that there is no unscheduled downtime in the production processes. Usually, this professional reports to the maintenance manager.

  • Answering to the production manager, oversee the carrying out services related to the maintenance (preventive and corrective) and repair of different areas of the production process.
  • Design preventive maintenance programmes that must be followed in order to ensure the correct operation of the work teams, taking into account the scheduling of technical downtimes.
  • Keep inventory of the spare parts and maintain relationships with their suppliers.
  • Oversee the outdoor maintenance at companies that perform tasks outside.
  • Oversee the training programmes for the maintenance team.
