Technical laboratory assistant

Description

Periodic calibration of the instruments is essential in order to guarantee the quality for future measurements, which is why the role of this technician is so important in a laboratory, where precision is fundamental. If significant deviations in the technical specifications are detected during the calibration process, the equipment or instrument in question must be repaired. This is the work of instrument calibration technicians. Professional calibration is necessary for obtaining and keeping certain certificates. The instrument calibration technicians ensure the reliability of the readings of the equipment and instruments, in other words, they ensure that correct measurements are given, without deviations. To do this, they obtain a measurement and compare this value with a well-known reference standard.

Tasks

  • Calibrate instruments and manage the system to obtain and keep quality certificates updated and ensure the reliability of the analyses.
  • Carry out calibrations that are planned, requested, new and urgent to the laboratory team and process team.
  • Complete the documentation necessary for the calibration processes and generate the relevant documentation in order to file and index it in accordance with international standards.
  • Be responsible for the reports on calibration and deviations.
  • Repair and control the equipment and install small electrical instruments that measure the circuits, pressure, flow level, temperature, etc.
  • Organise and keep the calibration documentation updated.
  • Manage the preventive and corrective calibration plans for the equipment.
