Description

Research is becoming more and more important and that is why R&D laboratories are constantly updated using new tools, equipment, technologies and methods. The laboratory instrument maintenance technician is responsible for ensuring all the material used in a laboratory is in good condition and ready for use. Pipettes, specimen tubes, test tubes, etc., are used for experiments and analysis and require special systems for cleaning and sterilization. Often, the person in charge of the preparation, conservation and maintenance of laboratory material also performs other functions, such as the distribution of culture media in containers, preservation of biological material in liquid nitrogen containers to freeze it, etc.

Tasks

  • Control and guarantee that all material is available (in amount and specificity) and in good condition for use.
  • Clean instruments either manually or using specific devices according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Sterilize material and instruments.
  • Replace any material that is damaged or deteriorated.
  • Provide technical support for the manufacture and storage of products.
  • Provide technical support for all laboratory tasks, as well as perform instrumental analysis.
