Mechanical workshop manager

The Garage Manager is the person responsible for ensuring compliance with the company's production schedule, in accordance with the guidelines set by production management. When the company receives the client's order, the technical department prepares the technical data and schedules the production (at large companies, the technical department and production scheduling department are separate). They pass this documentation to the Garage Manager, who is in charge of organising the production with different machines and ensuring that this production is completed in accordance with the quality and delivery times indicated in the specifications the company has been given. The Garage Manager usually answers to the Plant Manager or Production Director.

• Receive and interpret the manufacturing programmes.
• Organise the work teams and workers according to the guidelines received.
• Ensure compliance with the manufacturing programme.
• Work together with the maintenance department in order to ensure the proper operation of the work teams.
• Work together with the quality department in order to ensure the products' quality in accordance with the indicated parameters.
• Advise the purchasing department on the acquisition of work teams.
• Control the raw material stocks together with the purchasing department.
• Oversee the training of the staff under their responsibility.
• Work together with the people responsible for occupational and environmental risk prevention in order to comply with current regulations.
• Participate in the preparation of production bonuses.
• Collaborate in the preparation of production times and methods with the MTM technicians.
