Description
Industrial plants need professionals to assist in various production-related tasks, such as material handling, cleaning and machines and equipment maintenance, and common plant work routines (preparation, manufacturing, packaging and storage). The specialized worker arises from industrial plants workers, and constitutes a higher scale within the same professional category. Their work is usually linked to a specific equipment, process or operation, supporting plant workers or other specialized professionals, and under the direction of the person in charge of manufacturing and shift heads.
Tasks
- Prepare materials to use in the production process.
- Understand the production sheet under the supervision of the turn heads and the plant operators.
- Perform loading and unloading of production machinery and equipment.
- Classify, control and weighs raw materials and products.
- Clean machines, equipment and working areas.
- Transport and store raw materials, final products and products packed by the plant manually or through mechanical equipment.
- Record all process information, including coding of materials used, recorded readings and duration and incidents.
- Help other workers to operate, repair and maintain process equipment.
- Is in charge of orders preparation.
- Comply with environmental and safety standards, and applies criteria for proper fabrication.
Training
Regulated training and graduates
The role of the specialist groundworker is the offshoot of the professional evolution of the traditional figure of the industrial labourer. In this context, the figure of the groundworker corresponds to a professional with no studies or having completed primary education, equivalent to the Graduado Escolar (primary school certificate). There are also some people in this role with no experience but having completed compulsory secondary education (ESO) or Intermediate Professional Training Courses.- Minimum compulsory education

Other specific skills
Industry labourer usually requires a previous experience on production, meaning knowledge on raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques to maximize product manufacturing and distribution. He or she can also know about of machines and tools, including design, use, repair and maintenance.
